New for 2023 – Now an extended weekend; Thursday to Sunday.

Inspired by Jackdaws’ new studio, Michael Fields and Evelyn Tubb invite singers to explore vocal dynamics in relationship to context, time and space. There couldn’t be a better setting in which to take advantage of the accompaniments from lute, guitar or piano and the tutors’ wide range of knowledge and experience of repertoire and singing styles.

Singers will be encouraged to test their ‘boundaries’ of dynamic expressiveness, wrapped-up in the essential performance philosophy of singing as story-telling.

Participants should bring 3-5 pieces, covering the period from Elizabeth I to Elizabeth II.

A £70 deposit is required to secure your place on this course. The balance of fees, including accommodation, is due 3 weeks before the course start date.
