James Lisney talks Jackdaws

On a break between classes during a beautiful day outside our Lehane Wishart studio, James Lisney speaks to us about his memories of his time coming to Jackdaws.

James is renowned for his work with adult pianists and his piano courses in France, Ireland and the United Kingdom are extremely popular. This weekend he returns to Jackdaws for a course on Romantic Piano Music.

A regular visitor to Jackdaws, James enjoys a distinguished career that moves seamlessly between solo and concerto performances, chamber music and song, masterclass courses, and the curation of concert series in some of Europe’s most important concert halls. Recent initiatives have included a Schubert piano sonata cycle in Mumbai, a series of late masterpieces at St George’s Bristol and the Prague Rudolfinum, Chopin recitals to mark his sixtieth birthday. He is now involved with a project to perform Liszt’s Années de Pelerinage and the Harmonies poetiques in France and the Netherlands.
