“All in a delightful part of the Mendips I hardly knew.”
Great Elm is situated off the A362 connecting Frome and Radstock. In the centre of the village lies a grassed triangle, the church, and village hall; turn down the sharp hill (Elm Lane) and you will find Jackdaws on the left, just before the river.
Please note that if you are using a SatNav, it may only bring you to the centre of the village.
A frequent service of mainline express trains operate to Bristol, Bath, Westbury, London Paddington and London Waterloo. For more specific information and times visit National Rail.
Taxis are available from Frome Station for the onward journey to Jackdaws or your B&B (3 miles – around £10). You will find more regular train services to and from Westbury (10 miles – around £25 taxi fare) or Bath Spa (15 miles) rather than Frome, especially on Sundays.
We are situated on National Cycle Network route 24. For more information visit the Sustrans website.
