Term Time at Jackdaws Music Education Trust
For young musicians aged 10 to 17 of any ability, who want to include music making as a social opportunity to play in groups and ensembles. We’ll introduce you to new ideas and challenge you to try new things to develop your musical skills, all at Jack’s Music Club.
We schedule eight sessions each term, which are run either by our Jack’s leader, Kate Adams, a visiting musician, or by a one of our weekend course leaders; an amazing range of incredible musicians!
New Members – you’re welcome to try a session for free!
Kate’s background is in theatre and music, and she has been working for Jackdaws on a freelance basis for about ten years. She is local to is but has toured all over the place. The other tutors might also be local professional musicians or the specialists that are coming to Jackdaws to lead the weekend courses. You’re welcome to take a look at the courses on offer https://www.jackdaws.org.uk/courses/ to see who might be visiting.
This means that Jack’s has the services of world class musicians, championing a range of instruments and genres for an hour on a Friday, which is an incredible opportunity to be inspired as well as a chance to make some music!
If you’re between 10 and 17 years old, come and get involved in Jack’s after school club for a chance to meet others with a passion for music. Perfect for unwinding on a Friday night after a long week at school, and a great way to include social music-making in a home-schooling curriculum.
You could also do your Arts Award qualifications through the club, read more about that here https://www.artsaward.org.uk/site/?id=1346
