Jackdaws is dedicated to improving participation in and enjoyment of classical music.

We offer a year-round programme including courses for adult amateur musicians Weekend courses, Education projects, a Young Artists Programme and performances.

In our Education work, we interact with thousands of children and young people, inspiring and enabling creative expression by bringing accessible and inclusive music projects into their schools. Every year we bring together world class musicians and school children in  the South West, through award-winning Education projects such as ‘Year of …’, ‘Song Story’ and ‘OperaPLUS’.

Our Young Artists programme includes embedded training as part of our projects, supported course places and the chance to take part in the Maureen Lehane Vocal Awards.

Our year round programme of music courses allow musicians of all abilities to come together and learn from experienced professional musicians.

Our mission is to enable creative expression by bringing music to life. This goal is underpinned by our core values of inspiration, access and inclusion.

Jackdaws is situated on the banks of the Mells river, surrounded by beautiful English countryside, set among the fields, rivers and valleys of Somerset.
