Ways to Support Jackdaws

cropped-birdtrans1.pngAs with all small charities we are dependent on support from a wide range of sources. The donations generously given by our supporters are a very important part of this.

If you are able to make a donation, no matter how large or small, you are enabling us to continue in our mission to Bring Music to Life by Enabling Creative Expression for musicians of all ages and abilities. Thank you very much!

Join our Patrons Club

Jackdaws’ brand new Patrons Club is a small group of Friends who support Jackdaws’ work with young people, by donating £1,000 a year or by pledging a legacy, to support future development of new projects. Patrons help to ensure that Jackdaws can continue to give young people the very best experiences at the start of their musical life. Patrons gather once a year for lunch and a concert at Jackdaws to celebrate the work produced each year. Read more about becoming a Patron

Become a Friend

Friends provide Jackdaws with a regular contribution we can rely on throughout the year whilst providing you with benefits such as a discount on course fees, advance booking complimentary tickets to our Education shows, like OperaPLUS and Year of…,  and the exclusive Friends newsletter.

A one year subscription as a Jackdaws Friend also makes a wonderful gift for a friend or loved one with a passion for music and education.

Donate monthly or annually as you prefer from as little as £5 per month. Visit our Friends page for more information.

Find Jackdaws on justgiving.com and make a one off donation to our Development Fund to help us build a more certain future for Music education in Somerset.

Do you shop online? If you do, you can use EasyFundraising to support Jackdaws. This means large companies like John Lewis, Wiggle, Ao, the major supermarkets and many more will make donations to charity on your behalf when you shop with them online. The best part is, it doesn’t cost you a penny!

More information, including how you can subscribe, can be found on our Easyfundraising page.

Amazon Smile
Similar to Easyfundraising, Smile is Amazon’s own system for giving to charity while you shop with them online. At no cost to you, Amazon will donate a percentage from every purchase (excluding marketplace) you make, as long as you visit smile.amazon.co.uk instead of the usual amazon.co.uk Search Smile for Jackdaws Educational Trust.

Come on a Course

Oct2014Our Residential Weekend Music Courses are a great way of experiencing Jackdaws at its best; excellent tutors, superb home-cooked food and a weekend with your music. To see our full range of courses for Piano, Voice, Wind, Strings, not to mention Ensembles and One Day Courses, visit our course pages.

Alternatively, you could give a place on a course to a friend as a gift or sponsor a place for a student who could not otherwise afford a full weekend. Contact our office for more information.

Donating through a gift in your legacy is a wonderful way to provide Jackdaws with security and a foundation for our valuable Education work.

You can donate a fixed amount or contribute a Residuary legacy after your Pecuniary endowments have been provided for. As Jackdaws is a charity, your donation will be taken off from the value of your estate before Inheritance Tax is calculated (and even reduce this rate if you donate more than 10% of your estate to charity). Speak to your lawyer to append a Codicil, a small legal document, to your existing will to donate.

If you include a donation to us in your Will, please let us know so that we can thank you personally.

We are happy to speak to you about any of these ways of supporting our work. Just call the office to speak to someone about how you can help, on 01373 812383.
