Team Lieder!

with Richard Jackson

Immerse yourself in the rich tradition of German Lieder in this specialised singing course.

Designed for singers of all levels, this program explores the depth of expression, technical precision, and poetic nuance required to bring these masterpieces to life.

Through discussion, guided sessions and interpretive coaching, participants will refine their diction, phrasing, and understanding to achieve a more authentic and stylistic approach to the works of Schubert, Schumann, Brahms, Wolf, and Mahler, and more. Special emphasis will be placed on text interpretation, helping singers connect deeply with the poetry that forms the heart of German Lieder and the illuminating partnership between singer and piano will also be explored.

Additionally, if desired, the course will cover the intricate vocal works of J.S. Bach’s sacred works. Singers will develop agility, clarity, and a keen sense of baroque ornamentation while mastering the disciplined yet expressive style required for Bach’s compositions.

Led by one of the most knowledgeable and experienced vocal coaches in this field, this course offers masterclass sessions, one-to-one feedback, and performance opportunities.

Whether you’re preparing for recitals, auditions, or simply wish to enrich your artistry, this program will deepen your connection to the profound beauty of German vocal music. Join us and discover the soul of Lieder and Bach!
