John LattimoreJohn Lattimore is becoming increasingly well-regarded as a singing teacher working with both classical and musical theatre students. He has 10 years of experience, teaching both privately and in respected institutions.

John read music at St John’s College, Cambridge, and studied as a postgraduate at the Royal Academy of Music. He was then a member of the English National Opera OperaWorks programme, and went on to sustain a high-level international performing career. He continued his singing studies privately with Janice Chapman and he now works closely with Professor Chapman, as an accompanist and associate – her teaching and writing has greatly influenced his own development, as both singer and teacher.

“…John is a knowledgable voice teacher, an excellent young singer, and a fine musician…”

— Professor Janice Chapman

John maintains a busy teaching schedule. He operates a full private studio, as well as holding teaching positions at the Royal Academy of Music, where he teaches classical voice in the Junior Department, and at Italia Conti Academy, where he teaches musical theatre to degree and diploma students. For five years he was a member of the singing teaching department at Harrow School. He was invited last year by Mary King to give a masterclass on her Vocal Workout Weekend at RAM (and will return this year), and gives other masterclasses around the UK.

He is co-founder, with his partner Samuel Queen, of the London Singers Studio, which seeks to provide training for talented singers and voice users and has a high success rate of entry to conservatoire and drama schools at undergraduate and postgraduate level. During the COVID-19 crisis, John and Sam are live streaming group vocal sessions 7 days a week on their instagram page.
