The Singer’s Tune-Up: A Weekend of Renewal for The Mid-Journey Singer

with Audrey Hyland and Saffron van Zwanenberg

“Because the music you love is still waiting to be sung—by you.”

A gentle return to the studio, the stage, and the sound that is uniquely yours.
Life has a way of pulling even the most devoted singers off the stage. Work, family, and the passing of time can nudge our voices quietly into the background. But the call to sing never truly fades—it simply waits for the right moment to be answered. The Singer’s Tune-Up is that moment.

Designed for classically trained singers in their middle journey—those who have perhaps stepped away from regular singing for whatever reason and are ready to reawaken their voices—this immersive weekend offers a supportive, energising space to reconnect with your artistry.

Perhaps there has been an inevitable reduction of immediate feedback from teachers and coaches as life takes over, or just increasingly less time to pursue your singing, which can all mean that confidence wavers and bad habits may sneak in. Maybe you have not been able to sing for a while but life has now moved on to give you more space and time to dedicate to you.

Over three days, you will work closely with a dedicated team: an experienced singer, director and teacher, and a skilled vocal coach to bring musicality and interpretation into focus, to help you step confidently back into performance mode.

An enjoyable opportunity to re-engage with receiving feedback and working with others to optimise your skills.

Together, we’ll revisit breath, alignment, and vocal placement, consider technical challenges, brush up and develop performance skills and explore repertoire that both fits your voice and inspires your musical heart. You’ll receive personalised feedback in masterclasses and one-to-one sessions, as well as group activities that foster camaraderie with your fellow singers.

Whether you left singing behind five years ago or twenty, this “tune-up” will help you rediscover the joy, freedom, and expressive power of your voice—without judgment, pressure, or unrealistic expectations. We’ll celebrate your vocal journey so far, equip you with renewed confidence, and send you home with practical strategies to keep singing as an active, fulfilling part of your life.

Step back into the world you love, we’re here to welcome you home.

Bring any repertoire you are interested in working on, suggest 2-3 pieces.

Some course feedback:

The studio is a wonderful place to be, and we were very lucky to be able to spend time outdoors in the beautiful surroundings

I always feel much healthier after a spell at Jackdaws!

I can’t imagine there could be a more supportive and encouraging environment for learning…
