A course aimed at amateur string players who will relish the opportunity to work at a variety of music, both chamber music and for a small string ensemble.

In an atmosphere of support and encouragement advice will be given on instrumental technique and on how best to gain more confidence in being part of an ensemble. Some music will be sent out in advance so that participants can prepare, but there may also be a certain amount of sight-reading involved; music will be of a suitable standard.

Sophie Rivlin is a London-based cellist and performer who tours widely across the UK and abroad. Sophie plays regularly with various orchestras, contemporary music groups and chamber ensembles, having performed chamber music internationally at festivals in Finland, Sweden, Portugal, and Palestine.

A £50 deposit is required to secure your place on this course. The balance of fees, including accommodation, is due 3 weeks before the course start date.
