Spreading Winter Cheer to help us Bloom in the New Year
Last year we asked you for help in our Digging Deep for Jackdaws campaign and we were overwhelmed by your generosity. It enabled us to fit a new water treatment plant with very little impact on the budgets of our charitable activities.
Times remain extremely challenging for a small organisation such as Jackdaws. The costs of keeping the doors open have risen exponentially and we face perhaps having to reduce our offer both in terms of our weekend courses and also across our other projects with schools working with around 3,000 children and young people annually.
Maintaining our site is an ongoing challenge with a fairly endless to do list.
There are several important upgrades that we feel we can’t wait to undertake which we do not have the reserves to completely cover with our income being so impacted by the wider economic climate.
We need to:
- Re-point the rose garden wall- whilst we have the wall surveyed regularly and it is safe, the most recent survey suggested it should be re-pointed as soon as practical. The rose garden is such an important part of the Jackdaws experience and we want to maximise this for everyone.
- Re-carpet the downstairs practice room- to make it more attractive and comfortable for everyone.
- Add two comfortable chairs to our furniture stock- for people to rest in from time to time.
None of this is very exciting, but it will make a visit to Jackdaws a more pleasant experience and will also help us to continue to attract new participants, which will help enormously towards our long term sustainability.
The total cost of these upgrades is £10,000.
If all of our followers gave £10 we would easily reach our target of 7,000 allowing us not to use our emergency reserves or compromise our other activities.
Can you help?
Any amount, no matter how small or big will help.
You can make a one-off donation to our Spreading Winter Cheer appeal through just giving.
You could become a friend and make a regular monthly donation, which is a massive support to our overall sustainability.
Or perhaps you could help us plan for the longer term by becoming a Patron or considering a legacy.
