Oboe/D’amore/Cor anglais
After working extensively with The Manchester Mozart and Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestras in and around Manchester and giving recitals as a soloist, Jean Marsden continued her professional career in London.
Here she held the position of Principal coranglais with English National Ballet. Some years later, she was appointed Principal cor anglais/oboe with the BBC Concert Orchestra; a position she held until her move to Wales.
Jean played for many years, on a freelance basis, with the BBC Welsh Symphony Orchestra and Welsh National Opera, whilst tutoring at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, Bristol and Cardiff Universities.
She continues to teach at RWCMD and is very much involved in chamber music and private tuition.
