Course No. 3312
One Day Course
Escape the score and make friends with the piano in fresh ways! If you’ve always played from sheet music, you may find that you lack the confidence to play by ear.
This One Day course, for all pianists from beginners to intermediate players, will introduce techniques for playing by ear from scratch. The course will include non-intimidating singing, rhythm and improvisation activities alongside pentatonic melodies and simple classical music. The principles taught are widely applicable to music in any genre.
Stephen Marquiss is an experienced pianist and teacher, specialising in helping adults to overcome blocks and technical challenges, and to play fluently and expressively.
All courses are held at Jackdaws in Great Elm, a small village to the west of Frome in Somerset, approximately 14 miles south of Bath. Frome Train station is just 3 miles from Jackdaws with direct trains from Bristol, Bath, Cardiff and London.
A £45 deposit is required to secure your place on this course.
The Course Fee is inclusive of lunch, refreshments and tuition at Jackdaws.
