Remembering Jackdaws with a gift in your legacy is a wonderful way to provide us with security and a foundation for our valuable Education work.

Donations of this kind are vital and allow us to make much needed upgrades to facilities and equipment, allowing us to deliver the high quality education we pride ourselves on.

Heart Song at Jackdaws

Types of Legacy

There are two types of Legacy: Pecuniary and Residuary.

Pecuniary legacy is a fixed amount donation to a charity.

Residuary legacy refers to the donation of your remaining ‘residual’ estate after Pecuniary endowments have been provided for.

Tax

As Jackdaws is a charity, your donation will be taken off from the value of your estate before Inheritance Tax is calculated. The rate of tax is then reduced if you donate more than 10% of your estate to charity.

How to donate

Speak to your lawyer about including Jackdaws as a beneficiary when writing your will, or about appending a Codicil, a small legal document, to your existing will. A codicil will amend an existing will to add a fixed sum (effectively a donation) to a charity.

If you do choose to remember Jackdaws, please let us know so that we can thank you personally.
