Frome Voices, conducted by Alan Burgess, are a community choral society who reunite each year and combine forces with Frome Symphony Orchestra, for a performance of a great work from the choral tradition. Originally formed for a one-off performance of Rossini’s Petite Messe Solennelle in 2013, they have since performed Karl Jenkins’ The Armed Man (2014), Carl Orff’s Carmina Burana (2016) and Mendelssohn’s Elijah (2015). They continue in 2017 with Handel’s evocative Saul, ‘one of the supreme masterpieces of dramatic art’ (Winton Dean, Handel Scholar).
