For the last 22 years Caroline Radcliffe has been singing in Frome. Initially known as the mother of twins, she is better known now as the singing lady. Under the guidance of Maureen Lehane and Mannie Burn, she began teaching singing and musicianship in schools, based on the Kodaly technique; “I like a bit of ‘doh-re-mi’ (and they are all valid scrabble words too!)”
She currently runs three local choirs; the Jackdaws Songbirds in Frome, Shreen Harmony in Mere and Sounding It Out in Trowbridge. She also leads two singing groups for adults living with dementia, and teaches singing in a local primary school.
Caroline says, “I love discovering songs and writing arrangements to suit each group, and then hearing how the singers bring the song to life. I know I should really have a hobby away from music, but I am a useless gardener.” In her spare time, she’s a singer and songwriter with local band Three Corners, and also sings with the Terry Hill Big Band.
