This course will focus on the instigation of a relaxed, flexible piano technique. Tension can be an issue for many pianists, and this course aims to address any tension problems, within the context of chosen repertoire, all from the comfort of each participant’s home.
Melanie will spend a session at the beginning of the course working with students, discussing and implementing the necessary movements, via practical practice exercises, in order to obtain flexibility in the upper body. This will be combined with the gradual development of firmer fingers, which will eventually lead to a more confident technical grasp. She will then address these issues within each participant’s chosen piano pieces.
This course is suitable for any level. Please bring two or three contrasting pieces.

This course will take place on Zoom. You will require your own instrument, webcam, microphone and internet connection to participate. We will receive guidance on participating, alternative timetables and assistance in getting set up if required.
Deposit
A £50 deposit is required to secure your place on this course.
Course Fee
The balance payments for fees are due 3 weeks before the course start date, as indicated on your deposit receipt. Balance payments can be made by bank transfer (BACS info sent out with reminder email).
