Struggling with your Puccini? Want to belt out some Sondheim? This course covers fundamental skills for healthy and sustainable singing, whatever the style!
We will look at technical foundations of voice production: airflow, alignment, phonation and resonance. We will also look at emotional engagement and characterisation, and how these elements can help your voice be reliable, and most importantly, enjoyable! There will be a mixture of physiological, psychological and theatrical approaches, with an emphasis on finding your unique voice.
We will do some ice-breakers on the Friday night, then Saturday’s class will start with a physical warm up, followed by accent method, moving into a full singing warm-up, along with some info about where voice is made and what we can do with it once the vocal folds are vibrating. The focus of the day will be on airflow and alignment, and how characterisation (and primal sound) can help voices work best.

This course will take place on Zoom. You will require your own instrument, webcam, microphone and internet connection to participate. We will receive guidance on participating, alternative timetables and assistance in getting set up if required.
Deposit
A £50 deposit is required to secure your place on this course.
Course Fee
The balance payments for fees are due 3 weeks before the course start date, as indicated on your deposit receipt. Balance payments can be made by bank transfer (BACS info sent out with reminder email).
