Knowing the Score
with Karl Lutchmayer
Friday 27 April – Sunday 29 April 2018
Level: Intermediate-Advanced
Fee: £210
Course No. 3278
Solo Study Course
How much does the score convey in subtext rather than explicit instruction? Many of today’s musicians believe that a careful reading of a score’s implications helps them to create coherent interpretations actually inspired by the composer, rather than imposing them based on personal whimsy. In this course Karl Lutchmayer will lead participants on this journey with the piano music they bring, helping them to find the inner musical logic of the work and then portray it to an audience.
