Opera Workshop

with Mary Plazas & Jo Ramadam

Work on many aspects of characterisation and singing to better inform the way you approach your preparation. Participants will explore the characters, and how they relate to others in the story, the physical and fairy-tale lands they inhabit, and how to use this without compromising your singing. Movement, style, characterisation and technique will be examined, in the context of on stage and pared back for concert and audition platforms.

Jo is a coach and assistant conductor at the RCM and works for lots of opera companies, so he will add great value to the course working alongside Mary Plazas.

Prepare a minimum of two arias from any period.

A £50 deposit is required to secure your place on this course. The balance of fees, including accommodation, is due 3 weeks before the course start date.
