Performance Anxiety: How about a change of focus?
with Ruth Harte
Friday 30 September – Sunday 2 October 2016
Course No. 3200
Solo Study Course
Does anxiety sometimes surface when you perform? If so, how about a change of focus?
For instance, choosing the type of sound and creating the tone quality we want through total absorption in the way we produce it, makes us listen far more intently and musically to the exclusion of anything else!
We will discuss some of the technical possibilities and physical sensations of making tone – colour particularly in the Romantic English and French piano repertoire, but feel free to bring other pieces which attract your fancy, with a limit of three or four.
