Carlos Aransay
Carlos Aransay moved to London from Spain in 1988. He completed postgraduate studies on composition and conducting at the Royal College of Music. He studied singing at the Madrid Opera School, where he also worked as an accompanist. In London he continued his singing studies with Jean Hornbuckle and Andrew Downey. Carlos has taught Spanish for singing at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, the British Choral Institute, the City Lit (where he also taught vocal repertoire and technique) and Summer Music (Ardingly). He has worked on Spanish pronunciation with Patricia Rozario, Keith Lewis, Anna Stephany (winner of 2005 Kathleen Ferrier Award), etc. He conducts his own professional choir, Coro Cervantes, with whom he has appeared, amongst other venues, at the Wigmore Hall. He is a busy vocal coach and conductor and the director of Latin America's biggest international singing competition (Peru).
