Payroll-giving to Jackdaws

Are you aware that the government runs a scheme that attracts 10% over and above your donation? If not read on!

Jackdaws runs major projects/courses throughout the year, most of which are heavily subsidised by us. One significant way of assisting the projects is not very well publicised; do you realise that gifts to Jackdaws via the payroll-giving system attract an additional 10% from the Inland Revenue? No, not many do. Does your employer run the scheme? If so then it couldn?t be easier, you simply instruct him/her to whom you want the gift to go and for how much, and the deduction is made via PAYE. If your employer does not run the scheme then perhaps it could be considered. There are approved agencies for payroll-giving, a list of which is available from the Inland Revenue.

Since all the tax relief is given to the donor at source, no further tax will be repayable to either the agency or the charity (i.e.: Jackdaws) receiving the donations.

If your earnings are not via the PAYE system then why not consider our Gift Aid scheme, for which you may be eligible for Tax relief. Forms are available on request.
