Paul KnightPaul Knight studied at Chethams School of Music, Colchester Institute and The Royal College of Music. He has broadcast for the BBC on “The Pianist Entertains” and “Friday Night is Music Night”.

Paul appears as actor/musician in “Grimsley and Tibbs” “Champagne Charlie”, “Two’s a Crowd” (with Rosalind Plowright) “Here’s a How Dee Doo” (UK tour, West End Canada, and BBC radio 2 series) and “Forbidden Broadway” at the Fortune, Jermyn Street and Noel Coward Theatres. Paul accompanies Rosemary Ashe in her show ‘The Killer Soprano’, and their latest hit ‘Call Me Merman’.

Recordings include ‘Champagne Charlie’ with Christopher Beeching, ‘Serious Cabaret’ with Rosie Ashe ‘Esther’ a live recording from the Palace Theatre and ‘Encore’. His singing warm up book “Sing” is published by Music Sales Ltd.

As musical director he has played and arranged many shows including “Goodnight Mr. Tom “ “Applause” “Jacques Brel is…” “Little Shop of Horrors” “Marry Me a Little” “Into the Woods” “Godspell” and endless pantomimes and revues. Film and TV credits include “Night on the Town” “Handel’s Ressurection” and “Campion” He is opera arranger on Steven Poliakov’s ‘Capturing Mary’.

As a writer/composer Paul’s output includes the ballet “City Slick”, “Bunter” (Northcotte) “Ello Ello Ello” (Oldham Coliseum) “Prisoner of Panto” (Calgary and London) “Esther” (Spitalfields Festival and Palace Theatre) “Shake the Nation” (Liverpool Cathedral and Spitalfields Festival) well as eight Christmas Pantomimes for Oxford Playhouse Productions. He has arranged and written scores for Caucasian Chalk Circle, Othello, Winter’s Tale, Comedy of Errors, Macbeth and The Merry Wives of Windsor for Oxford Shakespeare Company.

Paul has co adapted and directed the hit show “Turn Back the Clock” based on the works of Joyce Grenfell as well as writing the score and lyrics for “Christmas Carol” and “Treasure island”. His new musical “Turn of the Screw” was produced in April 2016.
