This course is an exploration into the art of singing in French. The rich treasury of piano-accompanied French song from Berlioz to the present day provides the course repertoire. Participants, who may be singers of any standard from beginner to advanced, will prepare for performance three or four settings of French texts. The course outlines the basic principles of singing in French - methodically approached, French is an easy and rewarding language to sing in and can improve your general vocal health - and then concentrate on issues of style interpretation and performance skills in preparing for a Sunday afternoon concert.
