3 DAY COURSE
Course Fee £230
The emphasis of this three-day summer course will be on achieving a more holistic awareness of the sprawling piano repertoire than is possible in a weekend. The course will focus on repertoire, style, technique and practise methods; among the topics we'll attempt to cover will be: baroque, classical, romantic and 20th century repertoire, choosing appropriate music for pupils, ABRSM diplomas (Teaching and Performance), skeleton-score study, improvisation, embracing jazz & pop, duets and more!
The course will be particularly interesting for piano teachers, who are invited to bring, a) material that they feel is particularly appropriate for their teaching purposes, and b) pieces that pose issues for the performer as distinct from the teacher.
Bring as much music as you like, including work in progress. However, non-teachers are of course more than welcome also (as has been the case in previous years), so long as you are interested in the discussion elements as well as the playing part of the course, you'll doubtless gain something of value.
