Ability 18-20 January 2002 Catherine Senter Kenneth Mobbs (piano) Sarah Francis started her career as principal oboe in the BBC Welsh Orchestra and has broadcast as a soloist for the BBC since she was 20. She has also played and broadcast throughout Europe. Her first solo recording was Britten's 'Six Metamorphoses after Ovid' for solo oboe which Britten invited her to play at the Aldeburgh Festival. She is a professor at the Royal College of Music and has been on the panel of the International Gillet Competition. Catherine Senter was a principal player with the BBC Welsh Symphony Orchestra for twelve years before deciding to freelance. Throughout her career Catherine has specialised in making reeds with which she supplies many leading players. |
