We aim:

  • to provide a stimulating, educational and musical experience for guitarists of all abilities
  • to encourage active participation in ensembles, introducing guitarists to the widest possible musical disciplines, with an emphasis on phrasing and technique building
  • to offer the highest possible quality tuition from two experienced performers and teachers in a relaxed and informal environment

Weekend Format: guitar orchestras conducted and coached, with parts accommodating all standards. Parts to be sent in advance after student has indicated his/her standard.

Suggested repertoire to include baroque arrangements, Spanish works by Isaac Albeniz, and a modern work by Cuba's premier composer Leo Brouwer.

Lessons for individuals or established ensembles in an open, relaxed and informal environment.

Morning finger aerobics and suggestions on technique building.

Saturday evening will feature a concert on the guitar as a chamber instrument, given by the Eden-Stell Guitar Duo.

The weekend could culminate in an informal concert on the set guitar orchestra pieces and any individuals contributions. Any standard.

Mark Eden and Christopher Stell formed their Duo at the Royal Academy of Music while still teenagers. They both graduated as winners of several major awards and continued their studies in Brussels.

They have been invited to perform at the Wigmore Hall and the Purcell Room, South Bank Centre by music organisations such as `Live Music Now!', Park Lane Group, South East Musicians' Scheme, the Kirkman Concert Society, and the Classical Guitar Magazine. Other engagements include festivals and recitals in Germany, France, Holland, Belgium, Spain, Italy, Romania, Canada and the USA.
